The topic of this article is about Weibo, the Chinese
Twitter like social media platform in China. The author’s purpose is to inform
her audience about how Chinese authorities are using this service to continue
to control political speech, even while the government appears to embrace the
freedom of expression of other social media. They block and sensor information
about low level officials and they increase the internet monitoring when political
events are going to happen which causes the internet to slow down. This text
shows how media censorship is different depending the countries governments. In
the United States we have freedom of speech and other countries don’t like
china. Is it right to control what people can and can’t.
